The Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus presents the fourth season of our highly successful series for those who are interested in the influences on the political landscape here in the Commonwealth.

Each quarter, Commonwealth Commentary will present a different perspective on the current events in Massachusetts politics and beyond. From the budget, to health care, education and our environment, the topics are limitless. Our inaugural season presented Senate President Therese Murray, Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, Suffolk County Sheriff Andrea Cabral and Attorney General Martha Coakley. We were also pleased to have Administration and Finance Secretary Leslie Kirwan, and "City Elections 2009" with commentary on the 2009 municipal elections by David Bernstein and Hillary Chabot. Most recently our program has highlighted "New Faces in the MA Senate" where we featured Senator-Elect Eileen Donoghue and Senator-Elect Katherine Clark. Attendees were inspired by these women, and the press (both television and print) eagerly covered the events.

This season's guests will include influential elected-officials including newly elected Representative Shaunna O'Connoll, and Representative Denise Garlick. We will also feature the highest ranking woman in the MA House, Speaker Pro Temp Patricia Haddad. We also anticipate a program featuring the newly elected woman to statewide office, Auditor Suzanne Bump. These featured speakers will discuss the past election cycle and their experiences in elected office. With the recent shifting of elected officials here in the Commonwealth, there are many women candidates poised for exciting races and the Commonwealth Commentary will feature many of those women as guests.
